Ricky Nelson? Seriously?

Ever read something that really catches you by surprise? I did. Today, in fact.
Eric Hilliard “Ricky” Nelson, later known as Rick Nelson (May 8, 1940 –December 31, 1985), was an American singer, musician, and Golden Globe-nominated actor. With more than 50 Hot 100 hits, Nelson was second only to Elvis Presley as the most popular rock and roll artist of the 1950s and 1960s.

I knew Ricky Nelson was successful, but I didn't know he was that popular in the 50's and 60's.

  2. Yeah, Ricky Nelson was one of the pionners of Rock And Roll and he was one of the first teenager idol like was Sak Mineo and Elvis Presley too. He was one good looking guy who was shy but he has a beutiful voice and`was a very good singer and songwriter too. He died in 1985 with only 45. But they said that only the good die young. And he one of the best.

  3. Watch him on the Ozzie and Harriett show weekly when I was a child and when he became a young adult, he would always sing a song at the conclusion. Beautful voice and a shy demeanor but a great person!

  5. I was recently asked who I dreamed of when I was a pre teen and teen, My answer was Rick Nelson. I had the best Birthday gift ever to see him in concert in a small venue. I was so happy, I couldn't jump up and make myself noticed, but his singing was something but the way he presented himself was better. I loved the eyes. I saw him in concert in 1982?, I was so glad I had that opportunity.
